Scheduling Group Facebook Live Streams with Be Live

Facebook Live is the most popular live streaming option available. All of your friends, family, and customers are already using this social media channel so it makes sense to live stream on it.

However, there might be situations where you don’t want to live stream only yourself. Maybe you want to highlight a friend whose book is about to release. Perhaps you want to interview a popular entrepreneur who is sharing his secrets of success.

In these situations, you can still use Facebook Live to do your interview. But you will need a special app called BeLive. When you use it, you’ll get a unique link you can send to your guest. Your guest can click on the link, connect their camera, and immediately jump into the stream with you. If you’d like to try it out, here’s how to get started:

How to Use BeLive

First, go to the BeLive website and click ‘Sign Up’.favebook stream

A small form will appear. Fill out the ‘Text to Share with the Broadcast’ and ‘Your Email’ boxes. The ‘Text to Share’ feature is a simple way to describe your interview. Try to think of a catchy headline so viewers will want to watch your live stream.

Scheduling Your Facebook Live Stream
If you want to schedule your event, click the checkmark box that says, “Create a Scheduled Facebook Live Broadcast.” Then you’ll see a calendar so you can choose when you’d like your live stream to start.

When you’re ready, click on the ‘Connect with Facebook’ button.

Now, a permission box will load. This box will ask you to give Be Live permission to post onto Facebook on your behalf. Click on ‘OK’ button.

Now, choose where you want to post this live broadcast. You can post to:
• Your Personal Profile
• A Page You Manage
• Inside a Group You Manage
• An Event Page
There’s also an option to click ‘Testing Only – Do Not Post’.

When you’re ready, click on the ‘Create Broadcast’ button.

Be Live will now welcome you to the ‘Production Studio’.

Scroll down and click the ‘Start’ button.

Inviting Your Guest to Your Live Stream
On the left side of the screen will be a box that reads, “Invite Your Guest” with a special link. Send that link to your guest so he or she can join you during your live stream. You can share this link through an email or Facebook message.

Now that you’ve invited your visitor, click “Connect Camera” in the main pane to start streaming.

When you click on ‘Connect’, the browser you’re using may ask for permission to access the camera and microphone on your device. If that happens, click ‘Allow’.

Note: Before you begin your video, you can click ‘Create your ‘Agenda’. This allows you to create talking points so you and your guest don’t get distracted from your original topic. Keep in mind that you don’t have to create an agenda, but it can be helpful.

When both you and your guest are on camera, you can click “Start Broadcasting” in the sidebar to start the broadcast on Facebook Live.

Note: Audience comments will appear in the sidebar. Click “Show” to highlight a comment, and your viewers will be able to see it on screen.
Once you’re live, greet your viewers and introduce your guest. You can show comments from viewers in real time by clicking the ‘Show’ button.

This puts comments on the actual video and causes them to display like this:

If a comment is offensive or unhelpful, you can click the ‘Hide Current Comment’ button. Prefer to hide all comments?
Click the ‘Hide’ button. This won’t delete comments for you but it will stop them from appearing on the screen.

Facebook Live is a terrific way to interview guests and get more viewers. Currently, you can only interview one guest at a time. So if you want to feature more than one person, your first guest must leave the chat before your second guest can appear.
Good luck with your streaming!
